The Roman sarcophagus discovery

An evening talk looking at the discovery of the Roman sarcophagus near Harper Road in Southwark. The panel will discuss its excavation, interpretation, and what actually happens on a busy, urban construction project when such an amazing object is discovered. Chaired by Roy Stephenson, London’s Historic Environment Lead, Archaeological Archive at the Museum of London, this panel will include Ireneo Grosso, Senior Supervisor, and Vicky Ridgeway, Publications and Monograph Manager, Pre-Construct Archaeology; alongside the Museum of London's Senior Curator Jackie Keily. The talk will be followed by an hour to explore the Roman Dead exhibition.
