Discover how important the Thames was by chatting to two very different Londoners from the past…
As you explore the galleries you might bump into a visitor from the past! Dive into smells, sewers, toilets and killer bacteria with a man called Bazalgette and discover all about river Thames inventions that shaped the city we know today. Or you might find yourself swept into action with AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service) Officer Edith Tynan, who will teach you about the important role the Thames played during the Blitz. These Londoners from the past will be around the Lower Galleries in the museum between 11am-5pm.
