Spooky tales

Spine-chilling stories from the Baker's wife...

What happens when the museum doors close for the night?

Don your scariest Halloween costume and trick-or-treat your way around the galleries by torchlight, collecting sweets as you answer questions about London's history. Sneak through our dark and eerie recreated Victorian street and help the charismatic baker's wife solve a spooky crime. Listen to some terrifying tales from 19th century London, including the monstrous story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and the infamous barber of Fleet Street.

Get inspired by 18th century costumes and make a Gothic mask before bedding down in the museum galleries, surrounded by remarkable objects. Then enjoy a bright and early light breakfast and a screening of Disney's Halloween classic Hocus Pocus in the morning.
