Give your pupils a unique opportunity to see a real prehistoric hoard up close in this exciting and significant exhibition.
Whether you are teaching your Prehistory topic in Autumn term, and would like a planning visit, or if you would like to deepen the existing understanding of your current Year 3 in Summer Term, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
Who buried the hoard? Why did they do it? What does this amazing find tell us about Bronze Age life? Use evidence and clues to attempt to answer these questions as we peel back thousands of years of history. Experience immersive installations, cutting-edge technology and a good old-fashioned archaeological dig, which will bring over 450 bronze tools, weapons and other objects to life for your students.
For more information about the exhibition, visit the Havering Hoard: A Bronze Age Mystery page.
Give your pupils a unique opportunity to get up close with the past in our free KS2 session A Bronze Age mystery uncovered.
Through interactive, hands-on activities, pupils will learn about the role of an archaeologist, the significance of historical finds, and what can be gained from wondering without always knowing the answer!
In addition to a 60-minute session this includes a 45-minute self-directed visit to the exhibition. To book, please call the Box Office on 020 7001 9844.
To book a self-led visit, please fill in our self-directed booking form and select Havering Hoard on the ‘Gallery Resources’ section of the form (on page 4).
We highly recommend making a planning visit before bringing your students to the exhibition. The exhibition is free to visit and is open from 3 April to 1 November every day, 10am-6pm. There is no need to book a planning visit.
Give your pupils a taste of our exhibition from the comfort of your own classroom in A Bronze Age mystery uncovered - a live stream. See the objects and ask your questions about them – and Bronze Age life – to one of our archaeology experts.
