Your gift to London

The Museum of London is a charity and much of our activity relies on philanthropic support. By remembering us in your Will, you will secure our future and help us continue to tell the story of London and its people.

London’s story is your story

Your gift will help us to continue telling the story of London and Londoners.

Why leave us a gift

A gift of any size will help us continue our work to inspire future generations of Londoners, grow, conserve and display our extraordinary collection, and continue ground-breaking research about London and its place in the world.

We are huge fans of the Museum of London, and do what we can to support its work. By leaving a gift in our Wills, we hope that we can help the Museum to maintain its position as a world-class centre of excellence which future generations will continue to enjoy. At the heart of the decision is also the fact we love this city - it's been our home for more than two decades and I can't imagine a life without it playing some part. When we're gone, we will be in a position to thank the city in a modest but very tangible way. - Museum of London supporters.

Our trusted partners for easy and affordable Will writing

A Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign, and yet we often put off writing it. The Museum of London has partnered with two leading Will providers who make writing a Will easier and more affordable than ever before.

Home-visit Will writing

We joined the Goodwill Partnership to offer a discounted Will service which enables you to write your Will in the comfort of your home or over the phone.

Home visits are conducted by a trained professional who will pass your instructions to the panel solicitor to provide your Will. Our special charity rate for a Will is £108 +VAT and there is no charge for the home visit, including out of office hours.

Online Will writing

We have partnered with Farewill, a leading provider of online Wills. Make your Will online in four simple steps, from the comfort of your own home and with live support from their Will specialists. You can even pause and come back, and update your Will at any time. The cost of a Will is £90, making it one of the most affordable options available. If your Will is not straightforward, we would always recommend speaking to a solicitor.

If you already have a Will

If you would like to leave the Museum of London a gift and you already have an existing Will, you can do so without having to write a new Will through a codicil, or an official alteration to your Will. We would recommend speaking to your solicitor to make sure your codicil is valid. You may also choose to write a new Will.
