Practicalities of the move
- What are the practicalities of getting from one location to another? Consider in advance how to overcome any obstacles.
- How many objects are being moved?
- How many people will be needed?
- Will the objects need to be weighed before they are packed in crates?
- Has the correct documentation been prepared? This may be necessary for international travel, or for transporting hazardous or sensitive collections.
- Do you need to arrange equipment or van hire?
- Are there any events taking place that may lead to road closures?
- Is a police escort needed for any objects?
- Are there speed bumps or road works along the route?
- Will there be access and parking at either end of the route?
- Does your insurance policy contain any specific requirements regarding moving objects?
