Floor plans and databases
Two further tools that can prove very helpful are floor plans and databases. These can be either paper or electronic.
Floor plans
Floor plans (or room plans) can be used to identify high risk areas within museums where collections are stored (coloured red) and for indicating the locations of pest traps (using symbols). If pest data is added to floor plans, it can show very clearly where problem areas lie – and help identify related problems.
