Research
Research and scholarship helps the Museum develop a better understanding of London’s history, heritage and cultures. Research refreshes our thinking, not just about our collections but also about London itself.
The Museum’s research activities generally fall into three areas:
- Archaeology research
- Research about London, past and present
- Research about city museums and museum practice
We are keen to encourage people to use our rich and fascinating resources of material culture, documents and images for their own research, whether for academic studies or personal interest, family history or local history. We cannot meet everyone’s needs but click on your research to see if we can help.
