Phone and email enquiries
Museum staff can answer enquiries about the collections and London's history but we do not have the resources to undertake detailed research for enquirers. The Museum receives hundreds of enquiries a week and tries to respond to all enquiries within 20 working days.
Museum staff can only assist with the identification of objects made or found in Greater London. If you would like to bring in an object for identification, contact us to make an appointment. It is not always possible for Museum staff to provide object identifications via email. Objects more than 300 years old should be reported to the Portable Antiquities Scheme (external link).
See Collections contact details for all the above.
