Douglas Gilmore

Douglas Gilmore spent a decade as an executive director at National Gallery Company Ltd, where he had responsibility for commercial activities that supported the National Gallery. Previously his career has included retail operations, store format development and international franchising.

He was a trustee of the Museum of the Home for six years, where he set up and was the inaugural chair of its trading subsidiary. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and an alumnus and member of the Association of the National Youth Theatre. London has been his home for 35 years after being educated at schools in Hackney, Barnet and Bath, before graduating from the University of London. He is a member of the London Topographical Society.
