Stories of the World
Stories of the World is a national project that encourages young people in the UK to explore, engage with and influence museum collections and historic sites. In London alone the project will intensively engage 1,000 young people aged 14 – 24 from across 23 museums, challenging them to tell their stories, and the stories of the world, through a wide variety of activities.
The Museum of London is looking at the theme of place, exploring the legacy of the Romans who first built this city and examining the relationship between Roman London and the capital today.

The project also enables museum professionals to use the young people’s different perspectives as a catalyst and resource to transform the way they work and their museums.
Stories of the World is a key Cultural Olympiad project that allows young people to be involved in, and benefit from, London 2012. The project will demonstrate to a broader society what embracing young people can achieve.
Over a million people will see the four final exhibitions which form part of the programme in 2012. Ultimately over 2.3million people visiting the participating museums each year will reap the benefits of an improved heritage sector.
This Cultural Olympiad programme is led by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) in partnership with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). Read more on the London 2012 website.
