Visitors at the Museum of London Docklands

There's plenty to discover for all ages

Plan your route

Whether you're using public transport, your bike or your car, take a look at the map before setting out to the Museum of London Docklands.

Take in the sights of the Docks with a stroll alongside the river, make a day out of it by checking out what our friends at Canal & River Trust are up to or discover the network of waterways in the area on a longer walk. You can also cycle to the museum and park here - there are plenty of bike racks at the front, and some more just at the back of our building.

Bring a phone with you to access exclusive content

While some galleries are closed, we still have lots for you to enjoy

While some areas of the museum might be closed at this time, we are doing our best to provide a digital alternative. When you see a QR code in our galleries, you may use your phone to access online content to enrich your experience, so don't forget to charge your smartphone beforehand!

There are also plenty of digital activities to take part in when you arrive at the museum, like our Family Missions or our Story Sleuths free digital trails.

Grab a free family pack

Our wonderful Families team has put together a free family pack to take around on your visit!

You can download and print the 'Family challenger' game from the packs here, or ask one of our friendly staff members to direct you to the packs when you visit.

Bring a picnic, or pick up some food here

Our Rum & Sugar restaurant is closed until further notice, but you can pick up lunch or a snack at the entrance hall café. There is also plenty of outside space, where you can enjoy a snack from the café or have a picnic if you've brought food with you.

You can find out more on our Eating and Drinking page.

Travel light

At this time, our cloakroom and lockers won't be available to use, so remember to wear light clothes and bring minimal luggage. We also ask that, if you are bringing a buggy, you take it with you throughout your visit.

Download and print an activity sheet

Print off one of our free activity sheets and bring them along on the day of your visit:
