"I love working at an organisation which is full of passionate people who really care about the work they do. Having such a supportive network around me means I am able to develop my own skills and confidence and the social events organised by HR and other colleagues mean I’ve made great friends at the museum."
"I love working at the Museum of London – amazing collections, friendly people and a really exciting future, especially with the New Museum on the horizon. The variety of the curatorial work I do here is exhilarating, from curating precious war medals to sewage! The museum is open to staff ideas, and trying new things, as I found through their support of my Museums Association Transformers project."
"Working for the Museum of London has been an exciting journey. I started working here as a temporary member of staff but through opportunities offered to me to develop myself, I have been able to rise through the ranks. You wouldn’t find better opportunities anywhere else."
"As Chief Technician, I am responsible for overseeing the workshops operations. The technicians undertake object mounts, supports and framing for exhibitions and gallery displays, and maintain these displays to present the best public experience. Our work also involves providing technical support to most other museum departments. I enjoy working in this museum environment amongst such interesting and varied collections. No two days are the same and each brings its own challenges to be resolved – the bit I thrive on! It’s enlivening to work among such a professional, dedicated and friendly group of people, many of whom have become firm friends."
“I began working here at the Museum as an apprentice for the Culture Mile Learning team where I gained my NVQ Level 3 Business Administration. I now work as an Administrative Assistant for the Directorate Team where I am directly supporting the Directors and Heads of Departments with administrative duties. I’m excited in this role as I’m deepening my understanding around the functionality of the Museum through the senior team. I’m pleased that I had taken the opportunity to continue to work for the Museum of London who have always shown great interest in helping me achieve my goals and aspirations.”
"I am privileged to work with a huge and diverse team of amazing Visitor Hosts, who are all willing to bring their knowledge and life experiences to the Museum and really enhance every visit with a superb range of gallery talks and tours. The saying goes that you 'learn something new every day,' and nowhere is that truer than at the Museum of London, where the fascinating story of this unbelievable city is brought to life and built upon every day by our Visitor Experience team. I truly love working in this role, where knowledge and experience are valued and personal development is supported and encouraged. Having the opportunity to work with so many interesting and caring people across so many departments is a real honour; I’ve never had a job like it."
"Since joining the Museum of London, I have felt nothing but supported and motivated in everything I do. As a HR Administrator apprentice, I am extremely grateful for the career development that the Museum of London have offered me as it has provided me with a broad and exciting experience and encourages me to take on more challenging opportunities. The museum also has such an open and collaborative culture and it is amazing to be able to work alongside a group of such passionate, talented and hardworking individuals. My time at the museum is something I will value for life."
