The Regional Collection Care Team

Museum of London’s Regional collection care programme includes training in areas like insect trapping.

The team will work closely with the Regional Collections Care team at the Museum of London and the Collections Trust to deliver support and guidance relating to museum collections.

The team will provide six training events with a collections theme, each programme year. These will be delivered in partnership with the Regional Collections Care team and the Collections Trust. A list of current training courses can be found on the training programmes page.

Regional Collection Care team

Collection care (also known as preventive conservation) is the action taken to prevent or slow down the deterioration of collections. This is often done through controlling the environment in which they are kept, improving handling and raising awareness of good practice to improve collection conditions.

Regional collection care support can be provided in a variety of ways: through training, site visits and answering your enquiries. You can also access our e-learning tools on a range of collection care issues and our pocket salvage guide (PDF 3.22mb, opens in new tab) is a concise and helpful guide in case of collections emergencies.

We also offer a number of collection care training courses, with further details available on the collection care training page.
